Even before this summer’s free agency started, the Boston Celtics already had their eyes set on Gordon Hayward. More than a month after they successfully signed him, the morale in Beantown remains at a high level with their hopes of finally breaking out of the East looking brighter than ever.

To no surprise, Isaiah Thomas shares that sentiment. The All-Star point guard even said recently that he knows that Hayward will have a huge impact for the C’s and that the forward can take them to the championship next season.

The Isaiah Thomas’ comments definitely show the utmost belief he has in Hayward’s game, and that the moves their front office completed this offseason are more than enough for them to topple the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference, and even win it all in the Finals.

Gordon Hayward is coming off his best season in NBA so far, with averages of 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while playing for the Utah Jazz. If he can quickly show that he can co-exist with his new teammates in Beantown, it will be a huge boost to their chances, and could even start a long run of success for the Celtics in the years to come.
