Boston Celtics forward Matt Ryan wasn't able to contain his emotions after his heroics gave the Beantown team the win in their Summer League showdown with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Ryan delivered the game-winner for Boston after it looked like they were on the verge of defeat against Milwaukee. The Bucks took the lead, 109-108, with six seconds left in the final quarter. With the game on the line, the 25-year-old Ryan didn't hesitate and took matters to his own hands to give the Celtics the victory.

Running through traffic and against tight defense, Ryan launched the ball from the 3-point range and made it for the 111-109 lead. The Bucks still had some time to make one final shot, but it was in vain and Boston escaped with the big W.

Speaking to reporters after the win, Ryan couldn't hold back his tears as he reflected his journey to the NBA after going undrafted out of Chattanooga in 2020. He shared how he was driving for Door Dash a year ago, so to become part of the Celtics' roster was so huge for him.

“It's pretty emotional. It's been a crazy 11 months,” Ryan shared as he tried to hold back his emotions. “I was home for a year and half. I don't know if you had heard my story, but [I was] driving Door Dash a year ago. To be here, to be part of the Boston Celtics roster, it's special.”

Fans got to love Matt Ryan's grit and never-say-die attitude. While his work is far from over, he certainly has shown that he has the mentality to make it to the NBA.

Showing up and performing well in the Summer League is just the first step. Hopefully, Ryan can get a chance to showcase what he can do in the regular season of the NBA.
