Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward is set to return to the floor in time for Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the team. The forward has been out of action since Nov. 9, when he sustained a broken left hand against the San Antonio Spurs.

A month later and fully recovered from his injury, Hayward is set to suit up after being a full participant in shootaround, as his Celtics have a 9-4 record in his absence, three games back from the East-leading Milwaukee Bucks.

Hayward was having a bombastic comeback season after returning from potentially career-derailing injuries he suffered during the 2017-18 season-opener. The 6-foot-8 wing struggled to find his rhythm and aggressiveness after a year-long stint out of action but seems to have regained his confidence and the full extent of his abilities, averaging 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists through eight games this season.

The 29-year-old was nearing 20 points per game before his injury left him with nine points in 15 minutes before being forced to exit the floor against the Spurs. The Celtics now have three 20-point scorers in Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown, with another potentially returning to the lineup in Hayward.

Things have turned around swiftly for the Celtics after Kyrie Irving's departure, yet to skip a beat through a strong start to the season with much left to tap into during a grueling 82-game campaign.
