Boston Celtics rising star Jayson Tatum is not letting any of the negative noise affect him on his journey to be one of the best players in the league.

According to Tatum he does not really care what people think of him:

“Whether it’s really good or whether they think (his hot streak) was a fluke or it was just a short time span,” Taytum told Celtics insider Jay King. “I know what I’m capable of, what I think I’m capable of and what I’m striving for.”

Tatum appears to be intently focused on his goal, and is not letting the criticism impact his mindset. The 22-year-old also made it clear that he completely understands how he is still quite a ways away from his ultimate objective.

“I know I have a long way to go, but I just want to continue to get better every night, every week, every game, every year,” he continued. “And just never getting complacent.”

Jayson Tatum has been having the best season of his young career, averaging across the board career-best marks with 23.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 steals, while also connecting on 2.8 triples per contest on a 39.8-percent clip. This has resulted in his first ever All-Star appearance this term, and based on how things are going, this seems to be the first of many.

The Celtics entered the hiatus with a 43-21 record, which places them at the third spot in the Eastern Conference. Tatum will undoubtedly be a crucial piece for Boston if they hope to go on a deep run in the playoffs this season.
