The Boston Celtics are getting banged up by the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the conference semifinals series. After Marcus Smart suffered injuries to both his shoulder and quad, Robert Williams became the next player to get hurt in an NBA playoffs series already defined by injuries.

Williams got kicked in the privates by Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Bucks star drove to the basket. He played through the pain and even forced a miss from the Greek Freak but he ultimately went down once the game stopped. The Celtics big man asked to be removed from the game but still chuckled as he headed back to the locker room.

Both Smart and Williams were able to return to the game, helping the Celtics hold Antetokounmpo into a tough shooting performance. Williams started the fourth quarter and helped guard Giannis. Their defense has been critical all season and they are helping Boston slow down one of the league's best players. They are also displaying very impressive toughness.

The Celtics and Bucks matchup already had notable injuries before it even tipped off. Milwaukee All-Star Khris Middleton is expected to miss the entire series with an MCL injury while Jaylen Brown nurses a hamstring injury. Losing Middleton is a big blow for the Bucks, as his scoring would have been immensely helpful against such a tough defense.

Both the Celtics and Bucks both embrace physicality and defense, so Smart and Williams should be far from the only players to get banged up during this rugged NBA playoffs matchup. Hopefully, no one else has to miss any games.
