Though he’ll need to work on his dunking a bit more, Kanter should be a fine addition to Boston’s roster. He and the Celtics agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract on July 1, and he was officially signed on July 17.

Kanter, who recently worked out with WWE icon Diamond Dallas Paige, split the 2018-19 season with the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers, averaging 13.7 points and 9.8 rebounds in just under 24 minutes per outing.

The Celtics finished the 2018-19 regular season with a 49-33 overall record, which earned the team a No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Unfortunately, though, Boston was eliminated by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round, 4-1.
