As Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has been away from the team in a failed attempt of getting a new contract, it was reported that although he is not likely suit up in Sunday's game he might still travel with the team to Miami.

When news broke Wednesday that Gordon would be reuniting with the Chargers this week, people questioned how disgruntled the player would be in his return.

It is expected that the Chargers will not waive the fines accumulated so far by Gordon, upsetting the player even more as rumors circulate that this will be his last season with the team.

If the Chargers are getting back a discontent player that will be toxic to the locker room, it might not be worth it with how impressive backup Austin Ekeler has looked so far, although having Gordon back will undoubtedly add another dimension to the Chargers offense.

He is a top tier back in the league, but not a top three or five back the contract he was looking for suggested. The running back position hasn't been the problem for Los Angeles this season but getting Gordon back won't hurt.

With a slow start out of the gates and sitting at 1-2, the Chargers will need to start making their move in order to obtain that wild card spot with the Chiefs seemingly already locking up the AFC West.

The player missing now that is hampering the Bolts is tight end Hunter Henry as he aims for a mid-October return and the chance to stay healthy for the rest of the season in order for the Chargers to make their run at the playoffs.
