Chelsea may have cruised to a 4-0 dismantling of Malmo on Champions League matchday 3 on Wednesday, but they lost two key players to injury in the process. Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both limped off in the first half with injuries, giving Blues boss Thomas Tuchel an absolute headache.

Lukaku was involved in a heavy tackle in the 23rd minute that resulted in a penalty for Chelsea, in which Jorginho put away to give the side a 2-0 lead. However, the Belgian was clearly in some pain and proceeded to head to the tunnel, with Kai Havertz coming on to replace him. As for Werner, he evidently hurt his hamstring and also left the fixture early.

This is definitely a problem for Chelsea considering these two are very important to their attack. While Lukaku has hit a cold spell in front of goal, he did hit the ground running to start the campaign, scoring in each of his first four games for the club. However, the striker hasn't found the back of the net in his last five appearances and six if you count his 20-minute stint on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Werner hasn't exactly been great this term, netting just once and tallying an assist as Chelsea sit at the top of the Premier League. The severity of either injury isn't known at this point, but let's hope they're not too serious.
