Chelsea is looking to buff up its attacking options during the summer transfer window and the club has set its sights on Manchester City star Raheem Sterling. Sterling may be out of favor under Pep Guardiola following the addition of Erling Haaland, and has been linked with a move to Chelsea in order to secure more playing time. According to Sky Sports, if Chelsea wants to bring Sterling to Stamford Bridge, it'll cost them no less than £60 million ($73.3 million).

Whether or not Chelsea is willing to pay that fee for the English winger remains to be seen, but he could certainly be an upgrade in the attacking third. Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Romelu Lukaku are all facing an uncertain future at Chelsea so it stands to reason that Sterling could be seen as a viable replacement if one of those three leaves in the summer.

Last season at Manchester City, Sterling appeared in 30 Premier League games, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists for the English champions. Across all competitions, he registered 47 appearances with 17 goals, including 2 goals in the Champions League.

Chelsea is looking to compete for a Premier League title next season following a tumultuous 2021-22 campaign, and the addition of Sterling could be a significant boost towards their chances of hanging around in the title race. At 27 years old, Sterling is still in his prime and could be the first marquee signing of the Todd Boehly era at Chelsea following his takeover of the club following the Roman Abramovich saga, which only recently came to an end.
