Saul Niguez' move to Chelsea has been very underwhelming, to say the least. Saul reveals that he's become frustrated with the lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge.

After what seemed to be a dramatic transfer window with nothing left to give, Chelsea surprisingly pulled off an incredible loan move for Saul from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day. The move shook fans around the football world as Chelsea added another world-class midfielder to their already star-studded roster.

Saul came to London with hopes of reigniting his international career—the midfielder hasn't been called up to the Spanish national team since 2019. However, to his surprise, he has barely been given the chance to do so—spending the majority of his Chelsea career riding the bench.

Sources have told The Sun that Saul remains happy in Chelsea and understands that it takes time to adapt to the fast-paced play style of the Premier League, but he is also surprised by the lack of playing time. At this point, all he wants is a chance to compete.

“This is not quite what Saul was expecting. He is not s***** and doesn't think he should play in every game, he knows it might take time to get used to English football.”

The Spanish source expounds, “He is not angry, he is happy in London, as is his girlfriend. They are determined to see out the move. But he would like the chance to play a bit more. Being on the bench so much has come as quite a surprise.”

Truly a difficult situation for Saul to navigate, but he must face the realities that he must fight tooth and nail for a shot at making an impact at Chelsea.
