Chelsea striker Timo Werner didn't have the best debut season in the Premier League, scoring just six domestic goals and failing to live up to expectations. The Blues meanwhile are chasing the signature of Erling Haaland as they look to bring in a proven goal-scorer, and it's clearly making Werner second-guess his future at Stamford Bridge.

According to 90min, the German is open to a move away from the club, especially if Chelsea does in fact sign another top-class striker. He believes playing time would be at a minimum if that did happen, which means Werner is keen on potentially taking his talents back to Germany.

According to the report, his representatives have contacted Dortmund to inform them that Werner wouldn't be opposed to being part of a swap deal for Haaland if it became a possibility.

Werner joined Chelsea last summer from RB Leipzig, snubbing Bayern Munich and Liverpool in order to do so. It wasn't all lost for him with the Blues though in 2020/21, helping the side secure a top-four finish and win the Champions League.

A source close to 90min also made it clear that Werner isn't unhappy at Chelsea by any means. He's just prepared to leave the club if they in fact sign another striker. Thomas Tuchel's side is also stepping up their pursuit of Bayern star Robert Lewandowski and has been in contact with his agent recently.

Needless to say, there's certainly going to be some moving parts at Chelsea over the next month.
