The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing like no other team for the 2024 NFL season. Kansas City has a chance to win three Super Bowls in a row, which would be a first in NFL history. They are making every effort to prepare the team for another deep playoff push, including adding new wrinkles on both offense and defense. The Chiefs will need to stay healthy if they want to make NFL history.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently shared injury updates on a few players, including wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Toney left yesterday's training camp practice with an ankle injury. Reid was transparent on how this could effect Toney's performance in training camp.

“Well, listen, I mean, you want to be there every day, and so anytime you miss, especially during install days, you’re missing a load there,” said Reid. “So, he’s got to take care of what he’s got and get himself back out there.”

Reid recalled the moment he went to speak to Toney after he suffered the injury.

“Yeah, at that time, I didn’t know he was banged up, but I was just, let’s keep rolling. He had a play before that; he went up to get it,” said Reid. “I think that’s probably where he got hurt, but I didn’t know that then. But just stay on top of it. Just keep squeezing.”

Toney does not have a firm place on the depth chart right now, so training camp and the preseason will be hugely important for him. Toney needs to prove that he deserves one of the team's valuable 53-man roster spots.

NFL insider makes bold claim about Chiefs wide receiver room that should have the rest of the NFL worried

One reason why Kadarius Toney might not make the Chiefs' final roster, regardless of health status, is because Kansas City has a stacked wide receiver room.

The Chiefs invested significant resources in the wide receiver room this offseason, and thus far it is paying off for them.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero recently shared his observations from Chiefs training camp on The Rich Eisen Show. One of his insights should have other NFL teams on high alert.

“They are so fast,” Pelissero said about the Chiefs wide receivers. “You have so many fast guys on that team. It's not just Xavier Worthy. It is Hollywood Brown, and it's Rashee Rice, and it's Skyy Moore, and it's Mecole Hardman. They have to have the fastest team in the NFL.”

The Miami Dolphins may dispute that “fastest team in the NFL claim” but it is undeniable that Kansas City invested heavily in speed this offseason.

Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown add some serious deep speed to the Chiefs offense. Opposing defenses will need to respect the deep ball like never before when playing the Chiefs — which in turn could open up space for Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco underneath.

Good luck defending against the Chiefs this fall.
