Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland is looking to be the next member of the defending Super Bowl team to land a huge deal.

Breeland, 28, tweeted on Monday afternoon his desire to sign for big money, calling it “respect” he deserves.

A former fourth-round selection by the Washington Football Team in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Clemson, Breeland joined the Chiefs during the 2019 season after a single-season detour with the Green Bay Packers in 2018. Breeland registered two interceptions last season for the Chiefs in the regular season, appearing in 16 games and totaling 48 combined tackles, too.

Controversially, Breeland was arrested during the offseason by York County officers in South Carolina and charged with multiple counts, including resisting arrest, driving without a license, and marijuana possession.

Despite the arrest and pending discipline by the NFL, Breeland considers himself disrespected by the league and views himself as a top cornerback.

The Chiefs handed out mega-deals this spring and summer, including Pro Bowl defensive tackle Chris Jones getting the franchise tag and later agreeing to a four-year, $80 million contract with $60 million guaranteed.

The crème de la crème, of course, was star quarterback Patrick Mahomes signing a record 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth upwards of half a billion dollars, keeping the former league MVP and Super Bowl LIV MVP gunslinger in Kansas City for the next decade.
