There is a lot of concern about the 2020 NFL campaign as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Some are wondering if the league will even be able to complete a full 16-game season plus playoffs.

Of course, the No. 1 concern is player safety. However, Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Eric Fisher is not too worried.

“I’m a control what you can control kind of guy and obviously there are a bunch of professionals making decisions for us,” Fisher said in a phone interview, according to Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star. “There’s just so much information out there from all different angles, and I’ve just taken it upon myself to be ready when I’m called upon, and I know we’ll be put in safe situations.”

The other three major sports in North America are all preparing to play. The NBA and NHL have set dates to resume their respective seasons this month, and the MLB will officially begin its season, as well.

But given how football involves the most contact of any of those sports, there is obviously more trepidation surrounding NFL games than anything else.

“It’ll be interesting though,” added Fisher. “It’s kind of hard to even say what’s gonna happen just with as much information that’s out there. I know there’s a lot of ideas being bounced around. So we’ll see what happens.”

The NFL and the NFLPA are going over different ideas on how to best protect the players, such as potentially wearing masks/face shields and making sure to distance as much as possible.
