The Kansas City Chiefs are already Super Bowl champions. Now, they are also going to be movie stars. The Chiefs are going to work with the Hallmark Channel on a new Christmas movie, per Variety. Tyler Hynes is set to star, along with veteran actor Ed Begley Jr.

The movie is going to be called “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.” It is set to air this Christmas on the Hallmark Channel, as part of its Countdown to Christmas event. The film is set to start production in July, and the movie will be entirely filmed in Kansas City. Parts of the film will be shot in Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs play.

“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott said, per Variety. “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

There's already a connection between the Chiefs and actor Tyler Hynes. The two parties teamed up last year to work on a different project, called “Tis' the Preseason.” It was a campaign celebrating the NFL playoff season, starring Hynes. Chiefs players Trey Smith and Tommy Townsend appeared, as well as Donna Kelce. The Chiefs organization definitely seems interested in continuing to cross over into show business.

“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan added. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”

The Chiefs are expanding their brand outside of football

While the Chiefs have become synonymous with NFL success, they are also expanding their footprint outside of football. Chiefs coach Andy Reid is dabbling in acting, appearing in television commercials for State Farm insurance. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has also worked in TV, appearing in commercials for the Subway restaurant chain. His wife Brittany posed as a model for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may be the most recognized player on the team, outside of football. Kelce has attracted mountains of attention for his relationship with singer/songwriter Taylor Swift. He's also hosted the Saturday Night Live comedy show on NBC, joining a short list of other athletes like LeBron James, Peyton Manning and Charles Barkley. The Chiefs are certainly well-versed in the world of entertainment.

It's not known at this time how much of a role Kelce, Reid, and Mahomes will play in the Hallmark movie. Kansas City fans are no doubt going to be watching though, to see some of their favorite players and personalities.
