Throughout much of the season, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been squarely in the MVP conversation behind his stellar play.
With the regular season wrapping up, the Chiefs have put out a video on social media that highlights his impressive play throughout the season. In response to that, Mahomes has voiced his appreciation for the team adding more fuel to his MVP case, but his focus remains on the matchup in the season finale against the Oakland Raiders, via Kirk Larrabee of 247 Sports.
“My mom’s in town, so she for sure showed me as quick as she could,” Mahomes said during his Wednesday press conference. “It’s awesome. Those guys did a great job with the video. I thought it was really cool. But for me, it’s all about these next few games, play-by-play this next game against the Raiders and then hopefully get to keep it rolling.”

Although his focus may be on the upcoming matchup, it is quite difficult to ignore his impressive performance on the field. He has been a game-changing factor that has put together a phenomenal campaign leading the league with 48 touchdown passes along with being second with 4,816 passing yards and a 114.0 passer rating.
If Mahomes finishes off the regular season with another strong performance while leading the Chiefs to earn the top overall spot in the AFC playoff picture, it should all but cement him as the frontrunner for the MVP award.
