Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't letting the team's recent playoff woes bother him as they prepare to enter the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Mahomes currently sits as the front-runner to capture the NFL MVP award after putting together a ton of excellent performances in his first season as the team's starter.

He threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns during the regular season while posting a 113.8 quarterback rating.

However, even with the Chiefs sitting in a great spot entering the postseason, there are obvious concerns given their six-game home losing streak in the playoffs.

As for Mahomes? He's not too worried about that.

From ESPN's Adam Teicher:

Patrick Mahomes on the Chiefs’ six-game playoff losing streak at Arrowhead Stadium, a streak that dates back to January 1996: “I know the history and stuff like that but at the same time, we’re a different generation. I’m ready to go out there and win a football game at Arrowhead.’’

The most recent playoff loss for the Chiefs came back in January when the Tennessee Titans earned a comeback victory in impressive fashion, which only added to the home playoff issues.

Of course, Andy Reid has a much more explosive team now with Mahomes under center, so the expectations are even higher in Kansas City as this group embarks on what it hopes will be a run to a Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs will now get an opportunity to regroup this week before returning to the field on Jan. 12.
