The Kansas City Chiefs are anxious to finally play the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and Patrick Mahomes made sure the team was using their time wisely. According to James Palmer of NFL Network, Mahomes stressed preparation to teammates ahead of Super Bowl 54:

Mahomes is known for his strong arm and his jaw-dropping throws on the field. As for off of the field, the Chiefs quarterback is showing that he is a remarkable leader for a team that doesn't have much experience in a Super Bowl.

Teams in the Super Bowl are given two weeks to prepare for the most important game of the season. Therefore, the players and coaches have plenty of time to prepare themselves for anything that can happen.

With the Super Bowl being held in Miami this year, the players could be out attending the multitude of events being held. Instead, Mahomes is gathering his teammates and putting in some extra work for Sunday's contest.

So far in the playoffs, Mahomes has been nothing short of spectacular for Kansas City. The gunslinging signal-caller combined for 615 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the Chiefs' first two playoff games. The third-year Chiefs quarterback has also flashed his rushing ability with 105 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.

While Mahomes has been remarkable, he'll get a chance to square off against arguably the best defense he has faced all season on Sunday. In light of that, Mahomes is making sure that he and his teammates aren't surprised by anything in the Super Bowl.
