Tyrann Mathieu is about to hit NFL free agency again, and while his future with the Kansas City Chiefs isn't looking solid at the moment, the safety is doing a good job at adding drama to his current situation.

Here is Mathieu posting a cryptic tweet — in all its comic sans glory — that may or may not be about his looming time in NFL free agency.

“Replacing me is easy. Getting them to do the same thing I did is damn near impossible.”

That could mean other things, but it just makes sense to tie Mathieu's statement to football. Mathieu has been an integral part of the Chiefs' defense. In three seasons in Kansas City, Mathieu has collected 13 interceptions and three sacks. He is someone Kansas City should prioritize this offseason, given the value he gives to the defensive side of the ball. Mathieu, who signed a three-year deal worth $42 million with the Chiefs in 2019, won't have a shortage of interested parties for his services should Kansas City not offer him a contract.

The Chiefs are coming off an early exit in the NFL playoffs, but should be among the top contenders again in the 2022 season, as Patrick Mahomes remain under center to lead what should be a high-powered Kansas City offense. Complementing that offense with a solid defense is a no-brainer for Kansas City, but it remains uncertain whether the Chiefs would give Matthieu a new contract soon.
