On Monday the Los Angeles Clippers are set to face the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Aside from the fact that this is the first real test for the Paul George-Kawhi Leonard tandem, there's also an interesting side plot brewing. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers will be pitted against his new son-in-law Seth Curry.

Curry got married to Rivers' daughter Callie last September and when asked about who his daughter will be rooting for in the first round of the playoffs, the 58-year old had a laughable reaction.

“I don’t think she’s rooting for me, but I’m not so sure,” said Rivers, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “We talk every day, my daughter and I and Seth. So it will be interesting. I told her she should look at it in this way — the family should be together, and the best way for that to happen is for us [the Clippers] to win.”

Obviously, Callie is in an unenviable spot. And, as Doc puts it, if the Clippers do end up eliminating the Mavs early, that just means that Curry will be on his way home and join her and their 2-year old daughter Carter. If that's how you look at it, then a first-round exit for Dallas would be a win-win for the Curry family. Pretty sure Seth would have a different opinion about this, though.

Tip-off between the second-seeded Clippers and the seventh-seeded Mavericks will be at 9:30PM tomorrow. It's going to be an interesting couple of days in the Rivers household that's for sure.
