Kawhi Leonard of the LA Clippers is looking to start a minicamp in Miami ahead of the team's real training camp in Los Angeles.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the minicamp aims to forge a tighter bond and smoother chemistry among the players. The other team in LA, the Lakers, are also looking to hold a minicamp in Las Vegas in September.

It's a bold yet unsurprising move by Leonard. After all, fans have seen various teams — who seemingly have all the talent, at least on paper — falter a less-talented but well-knit group. It's a tried-and-tested fact. If basketball players don't get along off the court, then it will trickle onto their on-court performance.

It also means that Leonard means business and is willing to take the initiative to be integrated into the Clippers squad. He, along with Paul George, are the new additions to the team. So it only makes sense that they do some catching up with regard to getting to know their teammates not just from a basketball standpoint, but from a personal view as well.

It's definitely a good sign for Clippers fans. Amid all the discussions on how much of an impact the Clippers are expected to make in the 2019-2020 season, to Leonard, this is just noise. Yes, the Clippers are one of the contenders for the title. But until they haven't actually won it, then Leonard is willing to put in the work — even if it means starting way early than everyone else.
