Kawhi Leonard is a pretty well-known figure in the basketball world. While he's regarded as a robot of sorts among fans for his quiet demeanor and personality, on the court, he's one of the best players in the NBA. And for pretty much his entire career, Leonard has repped his iconic braids hairdo, making him one of the more recognizable faces in the league.

Well, that may not be the case anymore. Leonard has been out and about this offseason with the Los Angeles Clippers season getting ended in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, and he was recently photographed at the Gervonta Davis-Frank Martin fight that took place on Saturday night. And as fans quickly noticed, Leonard looked a bit different, as he wasn't sporting his usual hairdo, and instead appeared to have recently gotten a haircut.

Did Kawhi Leonard actually get a new haircut?

Given how long he's had the same hairstyle, many fans were taken aback by Leonard's sudden switch up. Change isn't necessarily always a bad thing, though, but to pull off such a big change without really letting anyone know is a big deal, although it would admittedly be pretty on brand for Kawhi.

Several folks didn't seem to be big fans of the change, but could they end up not having to worry about this change after all? Shortly after this image went viral on social media, there were a few accounts disputing the claim that Leonard's hair was gone, as they shared another image of him that showed he still had all his hair, just in a somewhat different style again.

This is certainly not a storyline that anyone could have reasonably expected to take place this offseason, but here we are. Everyone will be wondering what Leonard's hair looks like the next time he shows his face in public, but given how he likes to avoid the spotlight as much as possible, it could be awhile before we see him again.

If Kawhi did in fact change his hair up, maybe he's doing so in hopes of helping the Clippers get back on track next season. While Leonard had a great season for LA this past year (23.7 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 3.6 APG, 52.5 FG%), he only managed to suit up for two games in the Clippers first-round series loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

After another disappointing season for Los Angeles, some big changes could be made to their roster over the next few months. As for Leonard himself, a big change may have already been made, just not one fans were expecting to happen. And given the conflicting images here, everyone will be keeping an eye out for him moving forward to see whether or not he has in fact made some drastic changes to his hairstyle.
