Earlier this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to an offer sheet with LA Clippers restricted free agent Tyrone Wallace. The Clippers have until the end of Wednesday to decide whether or not they want to match the offer proposed by the Pelicans, but it sounds like that won't be happening.

According to a report form Keith Smith of Real GM, the Clippers are expected to decline their option to match.

Wallace is a 24-year-old native of Bakersfield, California. The formr 60th overall pick in the 2016 Draft made 30 appearances with the Clippers last season, racking up averages of 9.7 points on 44.5 percent shooting from the field (25.0 percent from beyond the arc), 3.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and just under one steal (0.9) in 28.4 minutes per outing.

Wallace has spent time in the G League as well, serving stints with the Salt Lake City Stars (2016-17) and Agua Caliente Clippers (2017-18).

Via HoopsRumors:

Wallace was one of a handful of point guards to work out for the Pelicans in August as the club sought depth at the position. Ty Lawson, Darius Morris, and Erick Green were among the other free agents who earned a look from New Orleans, but the team apparently liked what it saw from Wallace.

If the Pelicans add Wallace or another point guard to their regular season roster to join Elfrid Payton and Frank Jackson, it would allow Jrue Holiday to see more action off the ball.

With roughly one month remaining until the start of training camp, it sounds like Tyrone Wallace will be heading to The Big Easy for the next chapter of his career in the NBA.
