LA fan yells ‘Draymond hates you’ at Kevin Durant

Draymond Green, Kevin Durant

The playoffs are here, and after the Los Angeles Clippers made history by storming back from a 31-point deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors on Monday, it’s safe to say they are fully underway. The half-year grind of the regular season, with so much pent up frustration as the basketball world waits for the games to start really mattering, can ultimately render some of its most incendiary moments easily forgotten by the time spring finally rolls around.

One drama-laden incident all league followers remember well, though? The dust up between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green on November 14th following a loss to these very Clippers that not only resulted in a one-game suspension for Green, but seemed to spell Durant’s imminent departure from the Warriors this summer.

On Thursday night, an industrious Los Angeles fan took the opportunity to remind Durant of the potential fallout from his highly-publicized argument with Golden State’s most combative player when the two-time reigning Finals MVP took the free throw line.

Unfortunately for the Clippers, no amount of heckling could have stopped Kevin Durant from lighting up the scoreboard in Game 3. He dropped 38 points, four rebounds, and seven assists on 14-of-23 from the field in just 30 minutes of play, sitting out the entire fourth quarter as the Warriors – successfully, this time – milked a massive lead en route to a 132-105 victory.

Golden State, prohibitive favorites to win an unprecedented fourth title in five seasons,  now leads the Los Angeles 2-1 in the teams’ best-of-seven series. Game 4 is on Sunday.
