Lou Williams responds to Kevin Durant’s comments about him
LOS ANGELES – In a recent Twitter Q&A on his Boardroom account, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant named the five toughest players to guard in the NBA. Among them was Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams.
Durant named Lou Williams, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid on his list. One guard, three forwards and a center listed essentially displays just how versatile he has become. He’s able to defend guards, forwards, or centers, which isn’t something that you see often in the league.
Following Thursday night’s 122-95 Clippers victory over the Orlando Magic, Williams was asked about the comments Durant made for his own take.
“Yeah, that’s cool … It’s neat. K and I have played against each other since high school. He’s a little younger than me, but he’s always played up. We’ve battled a dozen, two dozen times over our careers. It’s always just been mutual respect, so that’s cool.”

The veteran guard didn’t have his typical scoring game against the Magic, going for 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting. However, he added five assists and four rebounds and the home Clippers crushed their visitors.
Lou Williams is having another All-Star-caliber year for the Clippers, averaging 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists on 43 percent shooting from the field. LA is currently 29-13 and sitting in third place in the Western Conference.
