Los Angeles Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell is leaving it to the fans and media to talk about their rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers.

During the Clippers' media day, Harrell emphasized they are not really paying attention to the much-hyped rivalry and implied they are more focused on themselves as the 2019-20 season nears.

“I don't think we pay too much attention to it. We don't really look at it. We don't buy into the LA vs. LA type thing,” Harrell said, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “In our locker room, we don't really tie ourselves to it much.”

The Clippers and Lakers gave birth to a legitimate rivalry after both teams made a splash this offseason. The Purple and Gold kicked it off by acquiring All-Star power forward Antony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans to form a deadly frontcourt duo with LeBron James.

On the other hand, the Clippers were able to land both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to create their own superstar pairing. Leonard signed with the LA franchise after helping the Toronto Raptors win their first championship, while George was acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder after requesting a trade to the Clips.

Both the Clippers and Lakers are considered title contenders, so it's only natural for fans and media to get hyped about the match-up of the two neighbors and co-tenants at the Staples Center. While Harrell and the team won't like the talk, they just have to live with all the attention.
