After a five-game absence due to a knee injury, Patrick Beverley finally made his way back to the L.A. Clippers’ lineup against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, his return wasn’t enough to prevent the Clippers’ ninth loss in a row.

Beverley was not at all pleased by yet another defeat, which was why he had some strong words for his teammates post-game, as reported by the Los Angeles Times’ Broderick Turner.

“We too cool. We too cool,” said Beverley. “We come in this game, we come on the court like people are supposed to back down because of the name on the back of our jerseys and that's not the case. The only thing people are looking at is the name on the front of our jersey, and that's nine losses in a row. They don't give a … about what you've done in the past or your stats or anything. Teams out here are trying to beat our … and they are beating our … .”

Losing this often is a new experience for Beverley, who made it to the playoffs in each of his first five years in the NBA with the Houston Rockets. That streak is now in serious jeopardy given how much ground the Clippers have lost in the very competitive Western Conference.

But being the fiery competitor that he is, Beverley is taking it upon himself to spark his struggling team into life with his harsh words about their current skid.
