Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverly is often recognized as one of the top perimeter defenders in the NBA today. Beverley's tenacity, quickness and hustle on the defensive side of the ball has been an asset to any team he has been on during his eight-year NBA career.

However, not only is Beverley a strong defender, but the 31-year-old point guard is also incredibly confident in those skills. On Instagram Live, the two-time All-Defensive Team selection made it clear that he believes he can guard anyone in the NBA 1-on-1.

“If you put me on an island with anybody in the league, game-winner, no pick and roll, no none of that, mano y mano, im getting a stop. Period,” Beverley said.

The former Arkansas star was named to the All_Defensive Second Team in 2014 with the Houston Rockets and the First Team in 2017 as a member of the Clippers.

Before the NBA was postponed in March, the 6-foot-1 point guard was a key part to Los Angeles' success. In 27.1 minutes per game as the starting point guard, Beverley was putting up 7.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 32.8 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Although Beverley doesn't wow you with his steal numbers, his skill as a defender is well known across the league as he is not afraid to get up in any player's face and is well known for being a pest to the opposing team.

If the season is resumed, there's a chance that Beverley could add a third All-Defensive Team honor to his collection.
