This 2021-22 NBA season has been one of the toughest to predict outcomes for, and the Los Angeles Clippers have been the toughest team to gauge. After losing a tough game to the struggling New York Knicks on Sunday, Luke Kennard and the Clippers took on the Washington Wizards Tuesday night hoping to get back on the winning track. They did so in such incredible fashion that even Paul George had to chime in.

The Clippers trailed the Wizards 66-31 late in the first half. Facing a 35-point deficit, head coach Tyronn Lue pulled starters Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac, and Nicolas Batum. The trio didn't play a second in the second half.

Instead, Lue let the young guys get the bulk of the burn. Led by Amir Coffey and Luke Kennard's late-game heroics, the Clippers were able to take their first lead of the game on a Kennard free throw with 1.9 seconds remaining. The final score: Clippers 116, Wizards 115.

After the buzzer, Paul George took to Instagram to post a photo of hero Luke Kennard on his IG Story. For whatever reason, George used a photo of Kennard from his days with the Detroit Pistons.

Terance Mann, Amir Coffey, Ivica Zubac, Justise Winslow, and Nicolas Batum were among those who took to social media to post their insane reactions:

The Wizards and their fans were beyond shocked at the outcome. A 35-point lead over the Clippers with 25 minutes to play, squandered. A six-point lead with 10 seconds remaining, also squandered. A game that seemed in hand for most of the night slipped away at the last second.

“It’s embarrassing,” Bradley Beal said. “There’s no other way to put it. … I literally was sitting for the last 10-15 minutes. I have no words besides embarrassing and … I don’t know.”

The Clippers don't have too much time to celebrate, as a matchup with the rested Orlando Magic awaits them Wednesday night in Florida. The Wizards, on the other hand, will have three days to really ponder what happened before taking on the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday evening.
