Los Angeles Clippers superstars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have been teammates since last season, so there's no reason for them to figure in an intense head-to-head matchup anymore, right?

Well, looks like the two perennial All-Stars have taken that head-to-head thing quite literally. As revealed by George himself on Thursday, he and Leonard not only push each other in practice for the Clippers, but are also involved in a contest to see who can grow his braids longer.

Now that's one hairy situation. The Klaw, of course, has rocked his signature dreads ever since joining the league in 2011. His hairstyle has pretty much personified Leonard even before fans learned that he is one “fun guy.”  George, meanwhile, only began growing his locks at the start of the 2020-21 campaign with the Clippers, so he'll definitely have his work cut out for him in this competition.

As trivial as this braids contest between the two sounds, it's actually a great sign for the Clippers. It just points out the great relationship and chemistry that Leonard and George have, both on and off the floor. This will come in handy in two years when Leonard enters free agency in the summer of 2022.

Both superstars are once again having phenomenal performances this season for the Clippers and led LA to a 30-16 start, good for third in the Western Conference.

George, for his part, has appeared more comfortable sharing the spotlight with Kawhi this season on the Clippers.

The superstar swingman has shown terrific growth in his second year in Hollywood, which he showcased in the Clippers' 98-85 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. Despite not having the calls go his way, George displayed maturity after the game.

As the Clippers continue to rack up the wins, it seems George relationship with Leonard gets stronger by the day.
