With five games remaining, there are no indications if Kawhi Leonard will even return to the San Antonio Spurs for the 2017-18 NBA season. As Leonard reportedly returned to New York to continue his rehab, teams are prepared to make trade offers for the 26-year-old in the offseason.

While it is unclear which teams will reach out to the Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer liked a tweet from Clipperholics about Leonard.

At this point, there are a lot of unanswered questions about Leonard's injury and potentially his future with the Spurs. As the two-time All-Star is eligible for a five-year, $219 million extension this offseason, it will be interesting to see how the situation develops in San Antonio. Considered the model franchise in all of sports by many fans, this is unfamiliar territory as teams like the Clippers will likely keep a close eye on them.

For the Spurs, all the attention will have to be on the five remaining games of the regular season. After dealing with reports of Leonard coming back and it ultimately has not happened, San Antonio has won eight of their last 10 games. With only two games separating them from the New Orleans Pelicans (eighth and final playoff spot), the Spurs have an interesting schedule: Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, and Pelicans.

Leonard is averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in nine appearances.
