DeAndre Jordan has been commended internally for keeping composed despite the nonstop trade rumors surrounding him since fellow big man Blake Griffin went down to injury, sinking the L.A. Clippers chances of making it out of the Western Conference.

“We’ve got to stick with it and find a way to keep this ship afloat while these guys get healthy,” Jordan told Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports. “I’ll let (the front office) handle what they handle. That’s out of my control, so I’ll focus on what I can control.”

“Like I said, I’m happy being here and you know, we’ll see what happens. If they come to me and they want to talk about (a possible trade), we can talk about it, you know? I don’t believe nothing in this league until it happens.”

Jordan is one of the best rebounding and shot-blocking bigs in the league, plus his reputation as an effective scorer at the rim can benefit many teams looking to make a run in the postseason. But the 28-year-old center has remained with a professional approach, despite doing his due diligence to hire agent Jeff Schwartz to represent him.

Teams are looking for Jordan to commit long term, as the Texas A&M product infamously backed out of a verbal agreement with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, which took his teammates barricading themselves along with him until the contract offer had expired.

Despite his commitment to his current team, he'll have to show a willingness to re-sign with a team before a front office can pull the trigger in a trade.
