Kawhi Leonard stepped up when it mattered most to give the Los Angeles Clippers the win over the Houston Rockets on Friday.

With less than 20 seconds left and the Rockets up by one at 119-118, Leonard rose up to the occasion and drilled a go-ahead jumper over PJ Tucker to give the Clippers the lead for good.

It was a nasty back-and-forth affair in the closing seconds of the game, with James Harden pulling off a four-point play while getting Patrick Beverley out of the game and Lou Williams scoring under pressure to give the Clippers the lead at one point.

However, in the end, it was Leonard, Paul George and the home team who triumphed. Leonard finished with 24 points, six rebounds and three assists to pace the Clippers to victory.

Meanwhile, Williams top-scored the LA-based franchise with 26 markers on top of three rebounds and eight dimes. George chipped in 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Rockets saw Harden bag a 37-8-12 stat line, but it was not enough to propel the team to victory. Russell Westbrook had 22 points, but he and Harden were the only Houston players to score more than 20 in the game.

Doc Rivers and Co. improved to 11-5 on the season, while the Rockets dropped to the same record.
