Colin Kaepernick hasn't taken a snap in over five years. But his name continues to make headlines to this day for his off-field advocacies, the same ones that forced him off of it.

The latest on Colin Kaepernick has to do with his Netflix special, particularly a juxtaposition of the NFL draft process with how Black men used to be scrutinized and sold as slaves.

“Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you,” Kaepernick states in the flick. “Searching for any defect that might affect your performance. No boundary respected, no dignity left intact.”

“How dare [Colin Kaepernick] compare the evil endured by so many of our ancestors to a bunch of millionaires who CHOSE to play game,” said the Utah representative on Twitter.

Another former NFL player Jake Bequette called Colin Kaepernick out “pathetic” for making the slavery comparison.

This clip is pathetic. We chose to play the game that we loved and we were paid well to do it. Shame on @netflix, @Nike, and the @NFL for embracing @Kaepernick7's antics and his disgraceful message.”

There's no word yet on how Colin Kaepernick has reacted to the backlash he's received. But safe to say this won't be the last time he returns to the news cycle.
