Adam Vinatieri is one of the best kickers to ever play in the NFL. That fact is not one that is disputed by too many people. He has made what seems like hundreds of clutch, late-game kicks and has even won Super Bowls with his leg.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts' star kicker has set a new all-time record for most field goals made in NFL history. Adam Schefter of ESPN took to Twitter to share the news about the record-breaking field goal.

To say that making 556 field goals is impressive would be a massive understatement. Not only has Vinatieri made that many field goals, he has done so consistently and effectively without ever giving a team a reason to cut him.

Vinatieri passed former NFL great Morten Andersen to take over the all-time record.

At 45 years old, Vinatieri is showing no signs of slowing down. He has continued kicking accurately and his power has not fallen off either. Indianapolis has relied heavily on Vinatieri over the last 13 years and are hoping that he will decide to stick around for a while longer with the success he is having this season.

Throughout the course of his career, Vinatieri has connected on 84.3 percent of his kicks. He has nailed 40 of his 63 attempts from beyond the 50-yard mark as well.

All of that being said, congratulations are in order to Vinatieri for making NFL history. He has passed the record already, but the Colts' kicker may still have plenty of time to improve and expand his lead moving forward.
