Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss organized team activities as a result of a calf strain, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
Luck apparently suffered the injury during a training session:
“During the training session, just a little tweak, a little strain,” Reich said of Luck's injury. “My whole mode and our whole mode is going to be, during this session, just to be real conservative with guys. Anybody who has any issues whatsoever. I told [the training staff] let’s be conservative with these guys. Main thing is to get to camp at full strength. Really any player who has any issue we’re going to be over-cautious.”
It is definitely a smart move to keep Luck out of organized team activities if he is not 100 percent. Not only is it silly to risk it, but OTAs are not even mandatory, so Luck shouldn't miss a beat by being sidelined.
Plus, after what the Colts went through during Luck's stressful recovery from a shoulder issue in 2017, they are likely going to be extra cautious with Luck in general.
Luck is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while completing 67.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 98.7 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.
The 29-year-old proceeded to lead Indianapolis to a playoff appearance in spite of a 1-5 start.
The Colts then went on to defeat the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round the following week.
