The Indianapolis Colts are currently searching for a new quarterback after trading Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. It was a roller coaster of a season for Wentz and his former team, but both sides hope for a better outcome next year. After spending some time thinking it over, Wentz sends a goodbye message to Indianapolis fans.
Obviously, Carson Wentz had a connection with the community. The new Commanders quarterback provided a lengthy statement along with some awesome pictures during his one-year tenure with the Colts. He thanks the city of Indianapolis for its support, even though the team didn’t reach its goals.

At the conclusion of the season, the Colts were rather vocal about moving on from Carson Wentz. Regardless, there doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings between Wentz and the organization. He moves on to play for the Commanders who desperately needed an upgrade at quarterback.
We’ll see how the rest of the offseason plays out for the Colts. They’re rumored to be interested in Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota, who could be great additions to the roster. Meanwhile, Wentz will have another shot at earning a starting role in Washington, as the Commanders hope to get into the playoff picture next season.
Keep an eye on the Colts, as they have a ton of cap space to make some noise in the offseason. The front office hasn’t acquired great draft capital, so we should see Indianapolis heavily involved in the 2022 NFL free agency. If they can find a competent quarterback under center, we could see this franchise become a playoff contender once again.
