The NFL Draft is fast approaching. And with it come a lot of rumors. Those rumors tend to swirl around the top-level quarterback prospects that will be making their way to the league.

ESPN posted a prediction for all 32 NFL teams. And when it came to the Indianapolis Colts, they went to that quarterback rumor mill. They predicted that the Colts will attempt to trade up in the 2020 NFL Draft to acquire quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Indianapolis is certainly in the market for a quarterback. They still have Jacoby Brissett under contract, and he played reasonably well in 2019. Given more time as a starter, he could be really good.

However, a lot of people are enamored with Tagovailoa. There are talks that he is one of the better true quarterback prospects in a long time. His arm talent is next level.

If the Colts truly believe he is their next franchise quarterback, they could go to any lengths to make it happen.

The bigger issue here is that there will be a number of teams that want Tagovailoa. That means that it might be hard to convince a team to trade up. Either they will want the quarterback themselves, or they will have a couple of teams trying to trade with them.

So if the Colts really want Tagovailoa, they might need to make an extremely tempting trade offer.

If Indianapolis makes it happen, the could be on the fast track to being serious contenders again. It was as recently as the 2019 preseason that they were considered one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Maybe they feel Tagovailoa can get them back there.
