With the Matt Ryan era in full bloom in Indianapolis, it is no surprise that there are a ton of Colts rumors flying around with the team wanting to capitalize on the 36-year-old's short-term window.

The most recent report is that the Colts will target the recently released New York Giants cornerback James Bradberry to bolster their secondary heading into the 2022 National Football League season.

The 28-year-old Bradberry started his career as a 2nd-round draft pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2016 NFL Draft. After four seasons with the Panthers, Bradberry signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the Giants following the 2019 NFL season.

Bradberry's excellent play in 2020 got him his first Pro Bowl appearance of his career. He earned an overall grade of 79.8 for the season from Pro Football Focus. Bradberry finished the 2020 NFL season with three interceptions (tied for 9th amongst all defensive backs), 48 solo tackles (tied for 38th amongst all defensive backs), and two forced fumbles.

With the Giants not close to contending next season, they opted to save $10 million in cap space.

The Colts recently traded their de facto number one cornerback, Rock Ya-Sin, to the Las Vegas Raiders for Yannick Ngakoue. It therefore is not surprising that Chris Ballard is circling the free agent and trade markets to try and find another veteran corner to pair with Stephon Gilmore.

Indianapolis has high hopes as they enter the 2022 NFL season. They have a solid defense, one of the best running games in football and a former league MVP at quarterback. But adding a corner like Bradberry could go a long way to a deep run in the playoffs.
