Things keep getting worse for the Pittsburgh Steelers. With just over four minutes left in the second quarter, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers hit wide receiver Zach Pascal for a 42-yard touchdown to extend Indy's first-half lead to 21-7 over the struggling Steelers.

Looking spry, the 39-year old Rivers evaded the Pittsburgh pass rush, stepped up in the pocket, and hit Pascal deep over the middle, after the receiver dusted Steelers cornerback Joe Haden.

It was Rivers' first TD pass of the game and his 23rd in his first season with the Colts (against nine interceptions).

More significantly, the 42-yard toss marked the 420th touchdown pass of the veteran QB's career, tying Rivers with Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer QB Dan Marino for fifth place on the NFL's all-time list. (Next on the list is Brett Favre at 508, which is seemingly out of Rivers' reach.)

At halftime, Indianapolis leads Pittsburgh by 14 points. Rivers has completed nine of 12 passes for 153 yards, with one TD and one lost fumble. RB Jonathan Taylor scored the team's first two touchdowns of Week 16.

Pascal has two catches for 58 yards. Entering Week 16, the third-year wideout had 39 catches for 524 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

The Colts entered Sunday tied with the Tennessee Titans at 10-4 for first place in the AFC South. The Titans are looking at a tough Week 16 matchup against the 11-3 Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football.

The reeling Steelers began the 2020 season on an 11-game winning streak, only to drop three straight games since Week 13.

While the Colts try to lock down a playoff berth and stay in their divisional race, the Steelers are trying to chase down a divisional title in the AFC North. The Steelers, if they can't win this game, would be looking at a possible division-deciding Week 17 game at the Cleveland Browns.
