After a brutal season, it's clear it is time for the Washington Commanders to address the quarterback position. There is some serious talent on this roster but they're not going anywhere until the franchise improves under center. During his visit to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, head coach Ron Rivera lets everyone know what his team needs this offseason.

According to CBS Sports, Ron Rivera claims his team, “needs a veteran.” Considering how well most of the roster stacks up, having a competent veteran quarterback would go a long way for the Commanders. It's been a while since we've seen this franchise at the top of the league, but the roster is closing in on becoming a legitimate playoff contender.

Rivera has hinted at the Commanders trading for a veteran quarterback more than once already. Although drafting a rookie makes sense, it's not ideal for Washington right now. Most rookies need time to develop and this franchise is hungry for a playoff run. Obtaining a veteran would be the right choice. However, which quarterback makes the most sense for this team?

Of course, there are trade rumors swirling around Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers. He'd likely be a great fit for this team, as he's proven to be a decent starting quarterback in the NFL. Not the best, but Garoppolo is certainly an upgrade over Taylor Heinicke. Other veterans that could be available via trade are Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, or Russell Wilson.

It's hard to imagine Rodgers or Wilson leaving their respective teams at this point,  but nothing is official just yet. Watson would be an intriguing option as well, but his sexual assault cases hinder his trade value. We'll see how it all plays out, but it sounds like Ron Rivera and the Commanders are going to go all-in to add a veteran quarterback to the roster.
