There is plenty of speculation regarding the state of the Dallas Cowboys receiving corps this offseason. It appears Dallas intends on keeping wide receiver Allen Hurns around for the 2019 NFL season.

Hurns' future is up in the air as he is coming off an ankle injury with a team option for next season. According to Mike Fisher of 247 Sports, his recent progress indicates that the Cowboys may be looking to bring him back:

But I'm told now that the Cowboys feel so good about the player, and about his progress in rehab, that the plan is to pick up the second year of the option on the contract he signed a year ago after being released by Jacksonville.

The Cowboys receiving corps was under serious construction at this point last offseason. Hurns signed a two-year deal with Dallas after being released from the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished the 2018 campaign with just 20 receptions for 295 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

Despite his struggles last year, it seems the Cowboys are confident that he will be able to bounce back. Dallas finally managed to find the answer to their problems at wideout with the acquisition of Amari Cooper during the season. They also brought back a familiar face for quarterback Dak Prescott in tight end Jason Witten. Perhaps the front office is hoping Hurns can emerge as a potential No. 2 option across Cooper. After all, he enjoyed plenty of success in this role during his time in Jacksonville.
