The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most exciting wide receiver groups in the NFL after selecting CeeDee Lamb in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Lamb joins a group that includes emerging star Michael Gallup and superstar Amari Cooper. And Cooper seems to be pretty thrilled with the idea of having those two by his side. In fact, he made a pretty bold claim.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic on Twitter, Cooper made a pretty bold claim about the wide receiver group in Dallas.

That's right, three 1,000-yard receivers in 2020. Cooper is calling that the expectations for this upcoming season. The Cowboys will have three 1,000-yard receivers in the same year.

Now, to be fair to Cooper – he is not claiming that this will definitely happen. But he is saying that those are the expectations. Which means he himself probably believes that it will happen. Otherwise, it would be weird for him to bring it up.

It certainly is a bold claim too. Not only would that be an incredible thing to happen for any team, but for the Cowboys it might be especially impressive.

Why is that, you might be asking?

Well because of the resume of the three receivers. Cooper already has four 1,000-yard receiving seasons in just five years in the league. That is incredibly impressive.

Gallup has one 1,000 yard season himself, and he's done that with just two years experience in the NFL.

Lamb is a rookie though. He was fantastic in College, but throwing him into the NFL on a team where he is the third receiving option and expecting 1,000 yards seems pretty steep.

Cooper and Gallup did not exactly blow past 1,000 yards in 2019 either. Both of them had just over 1,100 yards (Cooper had 1,189 and Gallup had 1,107).

So neither could afford much of a dip in production if Dallas is planning on having three 1,000-yard receivers.

And with Ezekiel Elliott seeming like a guaranteed 1,250-yard rusher, it's hard to imagine that many wide receivers being fed so handsomely as well.

Before you think about lowering Elliott's rushing total, 1,250 yards would be the least he ever produced in a full season. The only time he had less (983 yards in 2017) was the season that saw him appear in just 10 games.

Dallas will certainly have one of the most explosive and exciting offensive units in all of football. Claiming three 1,000-yard wide receivers might be a little bit of a stretch by Cooper.

It's certainly not impossible though, and he seems to be confident in himself and his teammates. So let's see what happens.
