Is Dak Prescott the franchise quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys going forward? Wide receiver Amari Cooper certainly thinks so.

When asked about Prescott, Cooper had this to say:

“Of course. He's a winner,” said Cooper, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. “I love Dak. He's a born-leader from what I can see. In all the close games we had this year, he was the one making those big plays, leading us to victory. I just like everything about Dak.”

Cooper joined the Cowboys midway through the 2018 campaign after coming over in a trade with the Oakland Raiders.

In nine games with Dallas, Cooper hauled in 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns, bringing his overall total to 75 catches for 1,004 yards and seven scores on the season, resulting in a Pro Bowl selection.

Prescott also made the Pro Bowl after throwing for 3,885 yards, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while completing 67.7 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 96.9.

The Cowboys won 10 games on the season, rebounding from an inauspicious 3-5 start to capture the NFC East division title. They then went on to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, marking just their third postseason victory since 1997.

However, the following week, Dallas fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.

Prescott, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was originally selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round (135th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He was pressed into duty during his rookie campaign after a preseason injury to Tony Romo, and Prescott ended up leading the Cowboys to 13 wins en route to making the Pro Bowl.
