If the Dallas Cowboys have serious aspirations of claiming the NFC East crown in 2021, they will need a healthy Amari Cooper at wide receiver.

On Tuesday, the Cowboys received great news on that front.

Cooper continues to recover from a lingering ankle injury and while this is good news for the Cowboys that he passed his physical and was removed from the physically unable to perform list, it is worth noting that this doesn't mean he will spring right back into practice. In fact, it is far more likely that Dallas will ease Cooper back into action with the regular season opener still a month away.

The Cowboys made waves in the offseason by locking up Dak Prescott to a massive contract extension, assuring his future with the organization. With Prescott back and a wide receiver core of Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys offense could be humming in 2021. And don't forget about Ezekiel Elliott.

Dallas will look to bounce back after Prescott's devastating ankle injury of his own in 2020 derailed the Cowboys' season. The Washington Football Team went on to win the division in 2020, with a losing record.

The NFC East appears to be up for grabs yet again in 2021 and it's hard to imagine any of the other three teams (Eagles, WFT, Giants) having a better shot than the Cowboys. Health pending, Dallas should be right in the thick of things from start to finish.

Getting Cooper off the PUP is one gigantic step in the right direction for the Cowboys with the preseason schedule already underway.
