The Dallas Cowboys are focused on the next season and what it could potentially mean for their franchise going forward. A majority of that involves some deligent rehabbing for some of their key players.

Star wideout Amari Cooper is one of those few players in the batch as he underwent surgery on Thursday to his foot. It was later reported by SportsDay Cowboys' Calvin Watkins that Cooper had surgery specifically on his ankle:

Cooper had been apparently playing through some lingering pains in his ankle prior to the end of the regular season. As it stands, Cooper never missed an extended amount of time from the ankle injury, which makes the news of his surgery a shocking development to most bystanders.

The 26-year old wide receiver posted on his Instagram story following the procedure:

Prior to the end of the season, Cooper turned in another productive campaign that saw him continue to surpass benchmarks. He was able to turn in another 1,000 reception yard year after his performance against the Philadelphia 76ers in Week 16. It makes for his third straight season where he's averaged over 1,ooo yards since joining the Cowboys.

Cooper won't be the only Dallas star that'll be rehabbing from an ankle injury. Dak Prescott suffered one of the more gruesome injuries during the season as well, though his rehabbing process seems to be on track.

Regardless, the Cowboys will be happy that both stars should be back at full strength ahead of the 2021 season to give them the best chance at cracking the playoffs.
