Amari Cooper was traded to the Dallas Cowboys midway through the 2018 campaign, with the Oakland Raiders sending him to Dallas in exchange for a first-round draft pick.

Cooper went on to have a very productive nine-game stint with the Cowboys, hauling in 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns. On the season overall, he caught 75 passes for 1,005 yards and seven scores en route to his third Pro Bowl selection.

Cooper has a strong belief in himself and thinks he could become the best wide receiver in the NFL:

“I’m excited to try to go out there and be a great football player,” Cooper said, according to Clarence Hill of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “To make a whole bunch of plays. To be the best receiver in the league. That’s what I’m really excited about. I can see it, and I believe I can do it.”

The 24-year-old seemed poised to challenge for that title eventually after two solid seasons to starts his NFL career, but a rough 2017 campaign in which Cooper caught just 48 balls for 680 yards and seven touchdowns temporarily thwarted that goal.

However, it seems that the change of scenery has done Cooper some good:

“It’s very special in that way that you described,” Cooper said. “Not many people have switched teams in the middle of the season and reached 1,000 yards or been able to make it to the Pro Bowl. It’s really special.”

The Cowboys won 10 games and captured the NFC East division title this year, largely because of Cooper's contributions to what was a fairly anemic offense before he arrived.
