The entire Dallas Cowboys passing game has been under a lot of scrutiny this offseason. Quarterback Dak Prescott has looked shaky at times, especially with his deep throws, while his crew of wide receivers — which includes a lot of new faces — hasn’t exactly inspired much confidence.

However, Prescott believes that he and his new receivers are finally starting to get a better feel for one another as camp has gone one.

“We really click,” Prescott said per Clarence E. Hill of the Star-Telegram. ”We’re starting to get it. As I said, when we have the changeover that we had and had a lot of new guys come in at receiver and play different positions, especially with a bunch of different guys, each of which has something different to offer to our receiving corps, it’s all been good. We’re starting to click, starting to hit the deep ball a lot more in some of these last practices than we did early on. But we knew that would be part of it, working out the kinks and we’re all getting comfortable with each other. It’s fun to do it.”

Prescott has recently pinpointed Cole Beasley — the longest-tenured Cowboys wideout — as his new most trusted receiver. But he will have to place a lot of trust in newcomers like Tavon Austin, Allen Hurns, Deonte Thompson, and rookie Michael Gallup, who will need to contribute in this receiver-by-committee approach that the Cowboys have turned to in the absence of a legit star.

It will likely take a bit more time for Prescott and his new receivers to completely click into place. But this is at least a promising sign that they can indeed prove their doubters wrong and form a productive unit this season.
