In the days leading to the Week 2 showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants there was much made about comments Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins directed at quarterback Dak Prescott concerning daring him to throw the ball.

Following the 20-13 win on Sunday night, Prescott voiced that it was a challenge that the entire team accepted and took on against the Giants, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“It’s not that big of a deal to me, but I know I wasn’t the only that heard that,” Prescott said Sunday. “When I said, ‘Challenge accepted,’ it wasn’t just me accepting that challenge. It was this offense. It was this team. . . . I heard what some of the guys were saying. I know they heard that message, too, and they were happy we were able to come out and do what we did.”

Although it wasn't a standout performance by any means from Prescott completing 16-of-25 for 160 yards and a touchdown, he provided a sufficient amount of play to lead the Cowboys to their first win of the season. He had answered that call in the first quarter on the opening drive with a 64-yard touchdown connection with speedy wideout Tavon Austin. It helped set the tone of the game and allow for Dallas to take command.

Meanwhile, Elliott balanced it out with his effectiveness in the running game with 78 rushing yards on 17 attempts along with a touchdown. His lone score came in the red zone on a 3rd-and-2 as he was able to break a tackle and push past Collins for the score to give Cowboys a 20-3 lead late in the fourth quarter.

This has now pushed them in the right direction with a critical matchup on the road in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks where Prescott and the offense will once again be tested.
