The Dallas Cowboys were recently reportedly set to part ways with star wideout Amari Cooper, a move that would free up cap space for the franchise. While Dallas likely still intends to move into next season with Cooper on another roster, it's most likely that the Cowboys opt to trade the 27-year-old. That isn't the only move the Cowboys have made/are intending to make this offseason. The Cowboys created $22 million in cap space with their latest moves involving star quarterback Dak Prescott and All-Pro guard Zack Martin, as reported by Ben Standig of The Athletic.

The Cowboys restructured the contracts of both Dak Prescott and Zack Martin, moves that opened up about $22 million in cap space. Dallas was reportedly planning the Prescott move, though it certainly helps that the franchise was able to make the move with Martin as well.

Both Prescott and Martin were due to make $20 million in 2022, so the Cowboys stand to earn better value on each of these players' deals next season. Prescott is coming off of a season that saw him set a new career-high with 37 touchdown passes while throwing for the second-highest total of passing yards in his career.

Meanwhile, Martin kept up his trend of being one of the very best linemen in the league, as he graded out to a 93.9 overall by PFF, one of the higher marks in the league.

The Cowboys will now have to spend the money made available wisely in free agency.
